Hello everyone! Welcome back to my nook in cyberspace. I just wanted to update you all as to what I’ve been up to in January. The short answer is… Not a whole lot. In my last post, I set a lot of lofty goals that I didn’t exactly follow through on. Though I did do some of them, so there! I’m not a complete lazy-bones-lost-cause.
Right at the start of 2025, I released a novella entitled When Reason Sleeps, Monsters Creep (oooooh!) Its a fun caper that features big titty goth mage Morella, bombshell scientist Dr. Irene Yanez, dual-dicked Anubis android Cyrus, cocksure Strosito the huskman, and obsequious ghoul Caligor. Follow these characters as they clamor for control and succumb to lust. Available now on Amazon KDP!
I went through a lot with this story.
The idea for Reason Sleeps came to me back in October of 2022. Like many, I’ve always been drawn to tales of Frankenstein and his monster. Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein remains my favorite iteration of the tale, so much so that I make a point to re-watch it every autumn. I still consider my favorite scene the one in which Frankenstein’s fiancé gets introduced to the monster’s monolithic member. It never fails to make me howl with laughter and groan with envy at her operatic pleasure song. Needless to say, this has made a lasting impression on me. And during that 2022 viewing, I decided to pen my own tale of creators and their monstrosities.
Ideas exploded from my mind. I decided to tell the story of two creators instead of one. I often enjoy putting magic and science at odd in my works, and Morella and Irene comprise respective sides of that coin. Representing these leading geniuses as female was important to me for reasons both progressive and perverse. Then I needed a protagonist. As soon as this need became apparent, Caligor sprouted from my brain’s gray matter. That hump-backed, wise-cracking Igor served as his frame and sharpened the edges with Caliban from The Tempest. After that I conceived of my goddess’ monsters–a single-minded brute and a sensitive protector. I was off to the races. I thought I would be done by the end of that October for a Halloween release! How stupid I was. How stupid I still am.
Three drafts and nearly three years later, and it’s done. Finally. I’m not sure that I’ll ever be super satisfied with anything that I put out, but this story will be one that will forever itch my brain. I hope that what it lacks in plot and characterization, it makes up for in booby, butts, and banana descriptions. Because isn’t that what this is all about? Who cares about engaging story and literary homage? Sex is all that matters.
Thanks for indulging me on that retrospect. Thank you even more if you read When Reason Sleeps, Monsters Creep. Thank you most if you read When Reason Sleeps, Monsters Creep and actually liked it.
Now that that’s all out of the way, let me entice you with what’s to come. I’m going to keep working on Gublino, my Goblin version of Rocky. Currently, I’m amidst some hefty rewrites. Once those are out of the way, I’ll read, line-edit, try not to succumb to insanity, and hopefully, sometime in February or March, release the sum’bitch. In the meantime, I’m going to try and get out something short and something free… That’s all I’ll say about that right now. Maybe it’ll come before Gublino. Maybe after. Maybe simultaneously (lol.)
For now, best wishes to everyone!
